I am interested in a few different styles and genres of writing. I’ve tinkered with these over the years as I’ve written for newsletters, blogs, newspapers, and friends, and will use them in the future. Check out my works in progress.
There is a spiritual world around us that we cannot see and I want to bring that world to life through fictional stories. My writing includes stories of unknown characters living their lives in biblical settings, events of the past as seen by angels or demons, or current events taking place in the spirit realm. Elijah spoke of this spiritual realm and prayed that his attendant’s eyes would be open. What would you see if your eyes were open?
The prophet’s attendant got up early in the morning. When he went outside there was an army surrounding the city, along with horses and chariots. He said to Elisha, “Oh no, my master! What will we do?” He replied, “Don’t be afraid, for our side outnumbers them.” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he can see.” The Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the hill was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. As the army approached him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike these people with blindness.” The Lord struck them with blindness as Elisha requested.

Biblical History and Exposition
Biblical history can help bring the stories and doctrines of the bible to life. For example, Jesus words, “I go and prepare a place for you” is so much deeper when you understand that phrase in the light of the Jewish wedding tradition. We are the Bride of Christ and become betrothed to Jesus when we accept Him as savior. Jesus is our faithful husband and he will go and prepare a home for us. At some unknown point in the future, the Father will tell Him to come and get us in an amazing event know as the rapture.
I have written and taught for years on the prophetic verses of the Bible. Prophecy is often difficult to understand and needs to be understood through the lens of other verses.
The words of a prophet are best described as viewing a large mountain range at a great distance. The further you are from the mountain the more the image looks only two dimensional. All peaks and valleys appear as just a single object in the distance, but as you approach the mountain you notice there are many peaks and valleys, and there are large gaps between each.
My fascination with science fiction started when I was six—I’ll never forget the excitement I felt as I watched X-wings and TIE fighters scream across the screen, followed by the roar of engines and blaster bolts exploding against the cold metal. I wish I still had my Luke Skywalker and Momaw Nadon action figures. They would probably be worth a lot today, but I think they gave me my money’s worth.
I love science fiction, but fantasy ranks right up there with it. I love to write in both genres. I want to tell you amazing stories that take place in fantastic places, with a strong positive message.
