Chronological End

This page contains a list of end-time events in Chronological order. My approach to building this list was to set aside all most of what has been taught about the end-times and build the chronology from Scriptures alone. You can also view the visual representation of this timeline here.

God will gather Israel back to her homeland

This has already started to happen, and is a sign of the end of times. The return of Jewish people to their homeland was predicted in scripture and was sort of a back-burner idea on the minds of Jews and Christians throughout the generations. Jewish persecution in the late 1800s led many to return home to a land occupied by the Ottoman Empire. Around the time of WWI British forces capitalized on this idea and used the Jews returning home as support for their war effort and beat the Turks in 1917. They maintained control over the region until 1922 when the League of Nations awarded Britain the mandate to govern, and prepare its citizens for self-government. After that Jewish immigration increased phenomenally. This led to and Arab uprising in the region which continues to this day. The British had envisioned a Palestine that was partitioned into Arab and Jewish sectors, but neither group liked the plan. WWII led to more and more Jews returning home, and the eventual rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948. Isaiah 66: 8 says, "Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be given birth all at once? As soon as Zion was in labor, she also delivered her sons."

The Christian Apostasy (2 Thes 2:1-3)

There are no signs leading up to the decline of Christianity. I must admit, this is not a popular stance among Christian's today. As of this writing, there is a buzz-topic among those that belong to the prophetic movement that say the Church will see great revival soon. As a Pentecostal pastor, I absolutely believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and the gift of prophecy that has been given to the Church of the last days. It is possible that God is moving through individuals now to bring focus to a coming revival, perhaps the last revival before He comes, but honestly I have no way to confirm what these "prophets" are saying. My personal belief is that prophecy is a gift for the local church. It the local church we can follow scriptural instructions for the prophet. Paul tells us in 1 Cor 14, "Have two or three prophets speak, and have the others pass judgment." We cannot do this with "prophets" we see on Youtube and in other media. The context of the local church is critical for the gift of prophecy in the Church. We may have a revival on the way, I admit it is possible. But I have formed my opinion of these last days based upon scripture alone. I recently posted in a Facebook group of about 5000 pastors and asked if there were any scriptures that pointed to an end-time revival. Nobody could point me to any. There was a lot of speculation, and opinions that they feel we will see revival, but no Bible verses proclaim that. Again, just because scriptures don't proclaim an end-time revival doesn't mean we can't have one. But when I do look at the last days, there is considerable teaching about how Christians will face tribulation, and how there will be a falling away in the Church....a Christian Apostasy. This doesn't mean our churches will get smaller. They could potentially grow. But the Bible says that many fall away and many will give ear to doctrines of demons. We could have a huge Church in the last days that is dead, just like the church of Laodicea in Revelation. A lukewarm and powerless Church.

Jesus Himself posed this question, "Now, will God not bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night, and will He delay long for them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

I do believe there will be a remnant of a Church when Jesus comes. A Church full of the Holy Ghost and power, and that is living for God and carrying out His mandate. But I also believe the popular church will be void of life, following doctrines of demons instead of the teachings of Jesus.

  • Matt 24:4-14 - They will hand you over to tribulations & lawlessness will increase.
  • Luke 21:10-19 - They will lay their hands on you and persecute you.
  • Acts 14:22 - through many tribulations we enter the Kingdom of God.
  • 1 Tim 4:1-3 - some will fall away due to teachings from deceitful spirits
  • Matt 24:10 - Many fill fall away due to betrayal and hate for one another.
  • 2 Tim 3:12 - All who want to live godly will be persecuted.
  • 1 Pet 4:12-14 - we will share in the sufferings of Christ.
  • John 16:2 - a time is coming when people will kill you and think they are doing God a service.
  • Matt 10:22 - you will be hated because of Jesus.
  • Phil 1:29 - suffering will follow after belief.

Where are we on this timeline?

It is really difficult to determine where we are in the end-times. This is NOT a prediction. If I had to guess where we fit in this timeline it would be right here. We are seeing the falling away of the Church, and I believe the contract with Israel is just around the corner.

The Covenant with Israel - seven years - (Antichrist revealed)

People often assume this will be a peace contract, but the bible doesn't say that. It could be a contract for land, the temple, peace, or something else entirely. When someone makes a contract with Israel for seven years, Christians will know. The antichrist will be revealed.

  • Dan 9:27 - This final week (of years) is in the future.

God will gather the Church (The Rapture)

The Church will not be gathered to Christ until two things happen (2 Thes 2:1-3)

    • First, will be after the falling away.
    • Second, the Antichrist will be revealed (signing the contract).
  • This will happen prior to the 6th seal, which is when the Day of the Lord starts - (His wrath - Rev 6:17).
  • The Church is not appointed to the wrath of God, so we know we will not be around after the 6th seal.
  • But isn't the rapture immanent? Not for believers.
    • Thes 5:1-11 - it will catch unbelievers unaware, but believers will know that we are in the season of His coming.
  • We will be caught up - 1 Thes 4:17

The Two Witnesses start preaching- lasts for 1260 days

Some say that Elijah came as John the Baptist in the New Testament. Jesus even said John was Elijah if you could accept it, but he also hinted at the idea that Elijah would also come prior to His Second Coming. Elijah will probably be one of the Two Witnesses. Some have speculated who the second witness might be. Some say this could be Enoch, because scripture says it is appointed unto man once to die, and Enoch never died. Others say it could be Moses, based on who Jesus talked to on the Mount of Transfiguration. I tend to think it's the latter because Moses and Elijah represent the Law and the Prophets.

  • Mal 4:5-6 - (Elijah comes before day of wrath)

Wrath of God begins (Rev 6:17)

The Sun turns dark and the moon to blood in Revelation chapter 6 and this marks the beginning of the Day of the Lord. The Day of the Lord is not a single day, but a time period at the end times. Check out the definition of terms related to the time of the end.

The 144K are sealed (on earth)

The rapture will be the biggest catalyst for many in Israel to wake up. Paul told us in Rom 7 and 8 that Israel was not cast off, but that they were still God's people.

The Raptured Church is around the Throne (in Heaven)
